Paddy Power Group Race at Cheltenham
13th November 2021
With 19 runners over 2.5 miles this handicap will be a joy to watch. Fast and furious from the start and only the ready and low weights will last in the straight and up the hill of Cheltenham.
There is no star in the race with the possible exception PROTECTORAT. However, the horses of this trainer have not hit normal form yet, so we are looking for another possible.
SIMPLY THE BETTS has gone to a better trainer and has the form to win.
COOLE CODY is nicely weighted and has the class the beat them like he did before.
Carribean Bay might find the distance too long but he is sure to be ready for the trainer who targets major races.

We are selecting in an easy to read race today. The race should be the concern of three horses in the race.
A Plus Tard, which just lost the Gold Cup in March at Cheltenham
Bristol De Mai who runs exceptionally well here and when fresh
Royal Pigaille an aspiring young chaser who promises to push them hard
Our selection EW or win only is BRISTOL DE MAI.
There are plenty of reasons to lean on the side of this horse. The trainer’s horses are running well, he is experienced over the track, he has a capable jockey and the opposition is ok. Of course the Irish A Plus Tard is a very good horse but our feeling is that the trainer is not where he was in March. The younger horse Roayl Pigaille is possibly more dangerous and the trainer’s horses are running well. That is where we see the danger coming from.

The hardest race of the day which normally ends with a winner of quality and of the class even though this race is described as a handicap. With twenty-one runners over three miles one needs luck and good strategy to win. Plenty have serious chances but which one is really the one?
The Irish horses are always a threat and here again they take fist chance to lift the trophy and take it back to Ireland.
Eklat de Rire is indeed the top one with the three Mullins horses to follow him close or ….
From the local runners we fancy the chances of Enrilo, Cloudy Glen EW and Danny Whizzbang off bottom weight and in good hands.

FAIRYHOUSE, 28TH NOVEMBER 2021, 2.40 RACE
It looks like a walk in the park. Honseysuckle looks a certainty but we see something that might be a factor. she likes the two miles races where she excels. The 2/12 miles might be too much first time out. Thus we go for Saldier EW. we see Mullins horses coming into themselves and we feel this one has a good chance to upset the favourite.
Verdict: Saldier EW
TINGLE CREEK GROUP ONE, 4TH DECEMBER 2021 SANDOWN
A top jumps race with only five runners, two of which we fail to see winning, one possibly the favourite believing on decline.
Thus we have two horses to select from, Nuba Negra and Captain Guiness. Both horses ran well at Cheltenham in March and there is every reason to believe they will do so again. Trainers are in form and horses should be in form too for such a prestigious race.
Select: We select both the above in this order Captain Guiness and then Nube Negra
Price are good for both right now.

In our view there are only a couple of horses running to win this race. Thyme Hill which should strip fitter and ready to win this one. This horse is the one we like and perhaps the winner. However, there is another unknown in the race and that is Third Wind which will be priced at 50/1 by the start of the race. We fancy this horse EW, he is coming back ready, the stable likes the work and even if he comes in third, there is compensation in that!
KING GEORGE RACE, 26TH DECEMBER 2021
It is never easy to select in these tyoe of races but why are we here? The harder the better.
We feel and know from experience that the winner of the Gold Cup Minella Indo is not for us. If he repeats the race he won the cup at Cheltenham he wins but we doubt he will be able to do that right now.
Thus, we believe the race will be going to one of these three with no preference at all. Asterion Forlonge, Chantry House and the outsider Tornado Flyer. All of them have a chance and EW makes sense especially the outsider of Mullins Tornado Flyer.

WE FEEEL THIS HORSE IS DESTINED TO GO HIGH AND THIS IS A STEPPING STONE TO MUCH BETTER THINGS. AT EVENS WE BELIEVE IS A SMASHING PRICE TO BACK.
3.05 THUS WE SELECT FOR THE KING GEORGE CLAN DES OBEUX AS THE BEST HORSE IN THE RACE AND FRESH TO START WITH A WIN. HARD TO SAY WHO WILL FOLLOW HIM BUT THE IRISH MINELLA INDO MIGHT BE READY TO RUN HIS RACE IN WHICH CASE HE MIGHT REALLY MAKE THEM GO ESPECIALLY IF FURTHER RAIN ARRIVES.

We were right in most of our thoughts yesterday in the King Goerge. Minella Indo failed, Tornado Flyer won and Clan Des Obauex came in second after the fall of Asterion Forlonge at the last. Well done to you who backed our selections and views.

This is alkways a tough race to win and this years it harder because Irish River compresses the weights to a very low level. We cannot see the Old Man winning and thus move on to the light weight carriers especially now that the the going is soft and perhps softer to the heavy side of things.
We have three horses in mind and go for them to win the race. Achille EW with no weight on his back and from a stable that knows its onions. Hold that Taught from the same stable is our second choice EW. We believe he will stay and be there to fight out for the win. Finally we respect the chances of the Williams horse Secret Reprieve. He runs well here and he is sure to be fit and on song for this.

WE IDENTIFY TWO HORSES THAT SHOULD PLAY A PIVOTAL ROLE IN THE RACE. MANOBO WHO STAYS FOR EVER BUT HAS PACE TO GO NEAR THE FRONT AND HIGH DEFINITION WHO WAS DENIED LAT TIME BY THE SHORTEST OF HEADS. THE COMPOSITION OF THE RACE AS WELL AS THE DISTANCE SUITS MORE MORE HIGH DEFINITION. HOWEVER, THE GODOLPHIN HORSE COMES FRESH ON THE TRACK AND IT MIGH OUTGUN THEM ALL.

THE EPSOM DERBY IS A PUZZLE WITH ONE PERSON ABLE TO SOLVE IT FOR US. AIDAN O’BRIEN. HE RUNS THREE HORSES IN THE RACE AND WE SEE TWO OF THEM REALLY PLAYING TOP ROLE IN THE RACE.
STONE AGE AND CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD. WE PARTICULARLY LIKE THE CHANCES OF CHANGIGOF THEGUARD AS HE WILL GO IN FRONT AND ALL OF THEM WILL HOPE TO CATCH HIM IN THE FINISH BUT… WILL THEY?

Three Group One races to share our thoughts.
2.30 Baaeed cannot be opposed but we propose as a SFC and placer Sir Busker EW. Trained by a shrewd man, running well against good opposition he is probably the long outsider many will ignore.
3.40 The American bullet Galden Pal cannot be ignored but being on a different track and under different conditions he might not perform as expected by his connections. The one horse we fancy is Equilateral EW. He will run his race and if nothing else, we hope he places.
4.20 Many fancy Coerebus because he won the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. We see a real fight in this race and getting position wont be easy. Thus we oppose this classic winner for two horses who were placed in two classics and they are of great financial interest. Wexford Native and Bayside Boy EW. The latter is closely matched with Coerebus and his chances are very good without diminishing the chances of the Irish raider Wexford. Their odds are an insult to what they really can do.
